Vital signs changes in neonates during general anesthesia: a retrospective data review to identify candidate preventative strategies in the conduct of neonatal anesthesia


We aim to examine if there are significant changes in blood pressure, temperature, end tidal carbon dioxide, and oxygen saturation in neonates who have undergone general anesthesia at BCCH during the last three years.

Who can participate in this study?

  • This is a retrospective study, no patients will be approached. Neonates, (28 days old or younger) who underwent anesthesia in BCCH operating room during 2010-2014.

Who should not participate in this study?

  • Patients that underwent pediatric cardiac surgery
